Background
The Westman Breast and Women’s
Cancer Network is a group of health professionals, breast cancer survivors and community partners.
Together, we work to improve the care and services for individuals who are at risk for or who are
living with breast & women’s gynaecological cancers in the Brandon and Assiniboine regions.
We offer activities within the Brandon and Assiniboine RHAs (Westman) focused on breast cancer
awareness and education, links to resources, information and support. Examples include:
• Healthy Choices Healthy Women - workshop on women’s health and breast cancer
• Community Contact Program – trained volunteers that provide one-on-one support
• Link to Pink – raising awareness of early detection and how to access resources
We are linked to a wide range of breast health and breast cancer care services including:
screening, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Local community partners
include:
• Canadian Cancer Society
• CancerCare Manitoba Breast Cancer Centre of Hope
• Waves of Hope Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team
We are members of the Manitoba Breast and Women’s Cancer Network, supported by CancerCare
Manitoba’s Breast Cancer Centre of Hope. Through this network, we are linked to a variety of
Manitoba stakeholders who are involved with breast and women’s cancer advocacy, research,
education, and support.
