Services provided at Rideau Park Personal Care Home include:

Nursing:
Rideau Park is staffed with a compliment of Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses,
Licensed Practical Nurses, and Psychiatric Nursing Assistants.

Medical:
A physician visits Rideau Personal Care Home on a regular basis and is on call at all times.
Residents also have the option of seeing a physician of their own choosing.

Business Office:
The Business Office is open to assist residents and families with general financial
information, rent, trust, mailing letters and parcels etc. The Business Office is located at the
front of the building close to the main doors and is open Monday to Friday 8 am - 4 pm.

Pastoral Care:
Pastoral Care providers visit Rideau Park Personal Care Home weekly and meet with residents
as requested. Church services are held each Sunday at 2:30 pm in the centre area of the facility
and Communion service is available each Thursday morning. |

Social Services:
A Social Worker is available to provide counselling and practical assistance to residents and
families dealing with social, emotional and economic factors.
|
Volunteers:
Volunteers enhance the existing programs and services at Rideau Park Personal Care Home and
help increase quality of life. |
|
Recreation Programs:
A monthly calendar of daily activities is posted to keep everyone informed. Exercise takes
place each morning and other activities such as bingo, crafts, baking and sing-songs occur
weekly.

Rehabilitation Services:
Occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech language pathology are available at Rideau
Park Personal Care Home. |

Hairdresser:
The hairdressing shop is located in the centre area of Rideau Park Personal Care Home next to
the Activities Office. Hairdressing services are available by appointment to all residents every
morning Monday-Friday.

Housekeeping/Laundry:
Housekeeping staff clean rooms corridors and other areas on a regular basis.
Laundry services are provided every day. A washer and dryer are available, at no cost, to
residents who prefer to do their own laundry. |

Respite Care:
Rideau Park has a Respite Care Program (2 rooms) which provides a period of relief for
caregivers of dependent individuals by allowing for a planned short-term intermittent
admission.
|
Van Services:
Rideau Park owns and operates a van and wheelchair van used to transport residents to
appointments, BRHC, events and outings. |
|
Smoking:
For any residents at Rideau Park Personal Care Home, smoking is allowed in one designated
area inside the facility and on two patios outside the facility. Staff and visitors are not allowed
to smoke anywhere in the building.

Tuck Shop:
The Tuck shop is open weekday afternoons from 1:30 - 2:00 pm and is stocked with a variety of
items including fruit, ice cream, candy bars, Kleenex and greeting cards. It travels once a week to
residents' rooms to sell items. |
|
Nutrition Services:
Rideau Park as a Registered Dietitian. The meals are planned and prepared by trained staff.
Special diets and/or alternative menu items are available.

Maintenance Services:
Provides a full range of services such as room repair, and upkeep, renovations, building and
ground maintenance and repairs for residents. |
