Palliative Care Program Palliative care is also called Comfort Care. It helps to relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for those people who have an illness that cannot be cured. Referrals to this service can be made by anyone. The Palliative Care Coordinator along with physician input determines whether people meet the eligibility requirements. Palliative care includes a team of specially trained health care workers and volunteers. The team is coordinated by the Palliative Care Coordinator and staff from the hospital, community and personal care homes. Palliative care will help people with physical, emotional, spiritual, needs, and end of life planning. Our service also offers bereavement support.
