Health Promotion Program
Health Promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve their health. Strategies that are commonly used in health promotion include building healthy public policies, creating supportive environments for health, strengthening community action and developing personal health skills. All of these strategies support making healthy choices, the easy choices.
The Health Promotion Program staff work with the community and individuals to improve the health of our residents. The programs activities will centre around six pillars: active living, injury prevention, tobacco reduction, healthy eating, healthy sexuality, and mental health promotion.
Services available include:
Mobile Wellness Screens

Get Better Together (Chronic Disease Self Management Program)
A free program, for those who are living with any kind of ongoing health problem, family and support persons are welcomed also. Each of the six weekly sessions will help participants learn to manage their condition better and cope with the challenges that health problems create in their lives. To register call: 204-578-4823.
