The Sexual Health Program at Brandon Public Health offers free and confidential
services.

Free services provided are: birth control, condoms, pregnancy tests, emergency
contraception and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment.

The program also offers information and counselling about safer sex and pregnancy to
both women and men of any age.

Public Health Nurses are also available to offer education, support, and counselling
to women across their lifespan regarding such issues as breast health, menopause, premenstrual
syndrome, fertility, and stress management.

Contraception
Contraception is also known as birth control, which means a method to prevent pregnancy.
There are many types of contraception for both males and females. Public Health offers free birth
control pills, emergency contraception and condoms as well as free counselling about choosing a
birth control method.
Pregnancy Testing and Counselling
Being pregnant is an emotional time whether it is a planned pregnancy or not. It is
important to know the facts as well as your options.
Public Health offers FREE pregnancy tests and pregnancy counselling!

Sexually Transmitted Infections/ Hepatitis C/HIV Services
When it comes to sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) including HIV –knowing if
you are infected or not is an important step to protecting yourself and others.
We provide free and confidential testing services. The nurses can answer you or your
partner’s questions over the phone, by e-mail or in person.

speak with a nurse.
